I’ve recently been hit by a deluge of recruiters. I don’t know why. There’s some good stuff.
“Hi, please get in touch regarding a Senior Developer role.”
Did you just get in touch with me to ask me to get in touch with you so you can get in touch with me to give me more details about a role?
“Hello, I hope you are well. I am keen to speak to you about a 20 day contract beginning Thursday 8th of May in London working for an agency.”
20 day contract! What an opportunity!
“Hi, I’m the IT recruiter at […], a Cannock based recruitment business. I was keen to introduce myself to you so you have my name in mind the next time you are looking for a new position. I specialise in IT recruitment and placing developers and IT staff into positions in ambitious and innovative companies.”
Fascinating. Where may I purchase the rest of your autobiography?
“My client is looking for a web developer … requires 2 years experience, pay is £20,000 – £25,000”
You’ve come just at the right time! Only yesterday I was considering the problems of having too much money and decided the best course of action was to seek a pay cut!
I’m not actually completely opposed to a recruiter contacting me and saying “I have a job opening requiring your skillset paying x monies where x is a number larger than my current salary within a few miles of you”, but it never happens.
