first world problems

I hate it when well intentioned people send me crap code to open source projects.

I know, it’s a first world problem. People are sending me code to an open source project.

It’s really nice they are doing it, but I have to figure out how to explain to them why I can’t include their code, and do so in a way that’s not discouraging. There are a plethora of problems but if I list them all it seems very harsh, and if I start coding up too many corrections it seems like I’m being unreasonably controlling.

Code is easy, people are hard.
